Yes, but why an armored one? Secretary with powerful enemies? Budget James Bond? Afraid of people shooting you for buying the wrong sports car?

But, does it protect the floors and will there be danger to the manifold?

I'm going to go with drug running.

You're asking the wrong question.
What I want to know is who is going to be shooting at an Eclipse driver?

But the Eclipse was too slow for drug running to begin with. Add on heavy armor, and even a fat policeman on a segway could catch it.

Someone who is passionate about sports cars?

Yes, but even a Camry could be a discreet sedan for transporting someone in a less developed country. This is just dumb.

Mk4 Jetta with the 2-point-slow. Yes, it is true.

Yes. But it's low key. You're not going to run through the border with duffles of shit coke and rag weed in a brand new S Class.

Yes, but in Mexico (where I'm assuming this is) "normal" armored cars appear to be more common than one might think. I've heard of armored Focuses down there.

Yeah, but...why not go for a sedan then?

Absolutley. Right now, the most populars are Grand Cherokees. These are the last gens mind you. Also we have a couple Nissans.
I have an Uncle with an armoured Single cab F-150. Also, my parents best friends, have 3 armoured 2010 Cherokees, an Armoured Raptor, and an Armoured S-Class. I have been in some, its quite amusing. I have also thought on asking him to lend me one for a day for an Oppo Armoured car review.

Because. Texas. I really have nothing. But it's not on flashy wheels or some crazy kit. The only reason I would give it a second look is because it looks stock.

To stay rather inconspicuous, but just armored as a preventative measure.

I'd like an armored Peel P50

I totally agree with you, but trying to determine the best drug runner car is an exercise in futility.
Older kick-ass German sedan or coupe? Plain (newish beige Camry/minivan)? It looks like you're TRYING to be incognito.

Seems like the best idea would be to go with a 2-3 year old FWD family sedan. You know, off-lease, Silver, 2011 Maxima. You'd have to be the kind of person who looks like they actually HAVE a family and business going to Mexico, though.

Maybe we're looking at this the wrong way. It could be the car of a teenage child driver of a "well-connected" family. They're not doing anything wrong, just being careful.

Redundancy, backup rescue plan with a bit of blending into the background, but secure in case of need. Bad guys target your decoys, think that poor guy in the tinted MB is part of the security detail. sneak off in the Mitsubishi scot-free, but ready in case Jack Bauer has it figured out.

Well, conversely, what would be the first car you'd think to armor?
Of course would have to get the factory Drag package to compensate for the weight. As a manufacturer/specialist, plausible. Because at that level of $$$ rules aren't applicable. Maybe in white.

I lack imagination. Plus, and armored one of these is awesome and makes you a diplomat/dictator.

A wise choice.
MBs usually have the top motor stuffed in there. Or tuned even more. Heavy.
The inertia and mass alone being moved affects local tides.

I see that armor, that shape, and that standard brush guard, and all I can think is:
RAMMING SPEEEEEED!

I took a trip to Mexico with a friend of mine when I was in high school. He is from an absurdly wealthy family and when we were there we went to visit his uncle who had a very eclectic garage that included a very special Beetle. His uncle said had met a man in Mexico who claimed that driving a Beetle was the best way to avoid getting kidnapped because no one ever thinks you are rich. So my friend's uncle bought an early 2000's Beetle and put grade 3 armor on it and swapped in a turbo 6, racing spec tranny and gearbox, bucket seats and all. It was the most hilarious sleeper/armored vehicle I have ever seen. And as far as I know he still hasn't been kidnapped.
